"Perito Moreno IX" was captured in 2016 by artist Kate Ballis hiking on the Perito Moreno Glacier, Argentina. Archival inkjet print on 300gsm 100% cotton rag paper framed by Format Framing using Tasmanian Oak wood and 3mm plexiglass. Each size is a limited edition of 100 and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity affixed to the back of the frame.
The artwork is available in 3 sizes and the frame is available in black painted timber, white painted timber or natural timber.

Artist Bio:
Kate Ballis (born 1985) is a Melbourne-based photographic artist whose work explores the theme of seeing the unseen. She is most well-known for her colour-drenched series Infra Realism and book of the same name, which uses infrared technology to isolate colours within the spectrum to bring a unique understanding of a particular place. Referencing ancient mythology and feminist icons, her work explores places and spirits of the otherworld, making them seem even more foreign than the earth we know.
Kate experiments with patterns and textures found within the natural world, combining scale and context to create images that, while being wholly grounded in reality, feel otherworldly. Captivated by nature and its immense offerings, Kates layered and textured works embody her resonant fixation with the cycles, splendour and fragility of the world. She is constantly planning the next destination to photograph and finds ways to capture that places story in a way that feels as unexplored as the location itself.
Represented by Arthouse Gallery in Sydney, Gallerysmith in Melbourne, and ARTITLED Contemporary in the Netherlands, her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Miami, and at art fairs across Europe. Her work has featured in Aesthetica, AnOther, Wallpaper, Vogue Living, VICE, Forbes among others.
Kate lives in Melbourne with her husband, fellow photographer and travel buddy Tom Blachford, their son Sylvester and two dogs.
